CPSL Mind was really pleased when Cambridge City Council’s Active Lifestyle Team decided to organise a DanceFest and raise money for the local mental health charity. The event was a great success and raised £448.

DanceFest took place on 14th September at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre. For £10 a ticket, 30 participants got to experience 6 different kinds of dancing over a three-hour session. There was Zumba, Bollywood, Lindy Hop, The Mix and Bachata. In addition, there was a raffle and cake sale to enjoy when all the energetic dancing had finished.

Danielle Guy, Active Lifestyle Officer said, “We want to encourage more local people to get active and have fun. DanceFest gave everyone the chance to try lots of different types of dance classes in one session. There really was something for everyone. We all had so much fun and it was great to raise money for our local mental health charity at the same time.”

Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser for CPSL Mind said, “We were so delighted when Danielle contacted us about the event and it was brilliant to watch so many people getting active and trying different dance styles. Being active is one of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and does such great things for our mental health. The money raised from this event will be used to help more local people get active as part of their recovery from mental health challenges. A huge thank you to Dani and everyone who took part to make this event such a success.”
