Queen’s Charity Committee, of Queen’s College at the University of Cambridge, have chosen us as their charity of the year. The Committee have already come up with some exciting fundraising event ideas for the next 12 months that will raise awareness and funds to support local people with their mental health.

There have been some creative ideas for fundraising events include a Harry Potter style formal dinner and an art competition, from which the winner’s artwork will become a postcard, with proceeds going to us.

Ella and her committee members Isobel and Maddie explained: “We’re delighted to have chosen CPSL Mind to support from 2021-2022, and we’re really excited to raise money for such a brilliant charity that is close to all our hearts and supports not only the welfare of Cambridge but the wider constituencies. We are hoping to combine fundraising efforts with some mental health workshops during fresher’s week, hold a Harry Potter themed formal dinner and hold an art competition; from which the winner’s artwork will be made into a postcard that will be sold on behalf of CPSL Mind”

Catherine Keating, our Community Fundraiser said, “We are so thankful to Ella and the charity committee at Queen’s College Cambridge for choosing us as their charity of the year. It has been a tough year for students who have been isolated from others and had their studies interrupted. As we recover from several lockdowns and the Covid-19 pandemic, people are still struggling with their mental wellbeing in many different ways. In response to increased levels of anxiety, isolation and loneliness, we have adapted our existing services – and are now able to spend more time out in the community with those that need it. We look forward to working with the committee and students over the year”.
