Ely to Cambridge Walk 2026

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week and our theme ‘Moments of Joy’ (11th-17th May) we will be connecting with the community in nature on this 14.5 mile walking route following a section of the Fen Rivers Way along the River Great Ouse and the River Cam.

You’ll start in the shadow of the incredible Ely Cathedral, known as the ‘Ship of the Fens’, which has dominated the skyline here for over 900 years, and finish amongst the world-famous university colleges. The route is very flat, following the peaceful riversides. The trail crosses the vast, flat Fenlands, a landscape drained centuries ago. As it’s a one-way trip, the best plan is to catch the regular train service for your return journey.

Distance: 14.5 mile (23.5km) average walking time 5- 5.5 hours

Date: Sunday 10th May 2026

Time: 9:15am arrival to set off at 10:00am

Meeting point: Ely Train station (Look for the team wearing blue CPSL Mind t-shirts!)

This is not a race, we want everyone to enjoy it, at what ever speed you are comfortable going at. There will be refreshment stops on the way but please bring snacks and lunch with you to enjoy on the route.

There is no charge to sign up to this event but we kindly ask everyone taking part to set up a givengain fundraising page to raise some money for CPSL Mind (Ely to Cambridge Walk 2026)

Visit the All Trails website to view the route map and for more information about the terrain and walking conditions.
