Cam FM talk mental health and raise over £800

For the second year running, Cam FM, the community radio station for students, staff and alumni of both Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin Universities, presented Speak Your Mind, a 24 hour radio broadcast to raise money for our work at CPSL Mind.

For the second year running, Cam FM, the community radio station for students, staff and alumni of both Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin Universities, presented Speak Your Mind, a 24 hour radio broadcast to raise money for our work at CPSL Mind.

From Saturday 7th March to mid-day Sunday 8th March, the Speak Your Mind fundraiser brought students, university staff and CPSL Mind together to create a series of programmes to raise awareness and encourage conversations about mental health and wellbeing. The Cam FM team asked their listeners throughout the broadcast to make donations to CPSL Mind, raising over £800, with money still coming in.

Oliver Harris, Station Manager at Cam FM said, “Doing the 24 hour broadcast was so much fun despite the lack of sleep! It was wonderful being able to raise money for such an important cause and speak to so many different people about the issues surrounding mental health. CPSL Mind makes a huge impact on people’s lives which is why Cam FM wanted to support them!”

Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser for CPSL Mind commented, “We are once again extremely grateful to Cam FM for supporting us. Not only did they raise a great amount of money, more importantly they encouraged students to talk more openly about their mental health and think about their wellbeing – which is so important. A huge thank you to Oliver and the whole Cam FM team for organising such a successful broadcast.”
