Find your Moments of Joy on Mental Health Awareness Week

Local and independent mental health charity Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, and South Lincolnshire (CPSL) Mind will be helping people find their ‘Moments of Joy’ on Wednesday 13th May at a community wellbeing event in St Neots town centre. The event is in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Mental Health Awareness Week is a week-long campaign that takes place every year in May. This year it takes place 11-17 May 2026 and highlights the importance of good mental health, challenges stigma and promotes practical actions people can take to support their own wellbeing. It’s one of the most high-profile public health campaigns in the UK, reaching millions of people through media, workplaces, schools, and community events.

CPSL Mind will also be supporting National Mind’s ‘Mental Health Care is Human’ campaign by sharing how the local charity supports its communities in a person centered way.

The event will be run in collaboration with the Citizen Hub, who has been successfully delivering its ‘Wellness Wednesday’ drop-in offering in St Neots since the start of 2026.

CPSL Mind will be in the Citizen Hub having important conversations throughout the day with local people and sharing information about its services.

The charity’s ‘Moments of Joy’ campaign is running throughout Mental Health Awareness Week, aiming to help people find joy through a number of activities. Events are taking place in Cambridge, St Neots, Peterborough, and South Lincolnshire.

The need for community mental health support has never been greater with 1 in 4 people said to experience a mental health challenge in any given year. CPSL Mind is a local and independent charity and supports 8,000 people each year.

Ashley Bunn, Chief Executive at CPSL Mind, said, “We have been working collaboratively with the Citizen Hub since we launched our exciting Side By Side podcast together on Time to Talk Day. As we approach Mental Health Awareness Week, it’s fantastic to be working together again and alongside so many other inspiring and brilliant local organisations. Working in collaboration to support the wellbeing of our communities has never been more important and with a packed agenda scheduled for Wellness Wednesday in St Neots, we hope local people can find their moments of joy. We would like everyone to know that they don’t have to face a mental health challenge alone and we look forward to welcoming people to the event in May. Thank you to everyone who is supporting our St Neots event this year.”

Grace Marsh, Managing Director at the Citizen Hub, said, “Wellness Wednesday is about creating meaningful moments to remind us of we’re not alone. This Mental Health Awareness Week is a chance to turn to connection into action: encouraging active citizenship, community care, and volunteering. Because when people come together with purpose, wellbeing isn’t just supported, it’s shared. I’m so proud that the Citizen Hub is part of this year’s Moments of Joy project on Mental Health Awareness Week with CPSL Mind. Thank you to everyone else who is supporting the event.”

At Woodgreen, we see first-hand how the bond between people and their pets can bring comfort, routine and joy.

Reflecting on being part of Mental Health Awareness Week with CPSL Mind, Lianne, of Lianne Marie Yoga, said, “I am super excited about our Moments of Joy yoga sessions in St Neots on Mental Health Awareness Week. Embrace and nurture your mind and body holistically with the practice of yoga. Yoga combines movement and breathwork, with focused attention to support nervous system regulation, which can help reduce stress, improve mood, and build greater awareness of both body and mind, often bringing a sense of ease and lightness alongside improved mental wellbeing. Over time, it also provides simple, practical tools that people can use in everyday life to manage their mental health.”
