Beaumont Healthcare, the largest care provider for Cambridgeshire County Council, held an afternoon tea at their base in St Neots on 7th July, raising an incredible £620 for us.

As part of the afternoon, an auction was held for a variety of prizes donated by local businesses. This included a £100 Extreme 360 voucher, a £50 Buffalo voucher, a Champagne & Macaroons facial, a Mrs D Donuts £25 voucher and a £20 Bohemia Voucher. The Mayor of St Neots, Stephen Ferguson, was in attendance as part of his ongoing campaigning for positive mental health in the community.

Roisin Fairbrass, of Beaumont Healthcare, and her team organised the event following a bake sale hosted last year for us. She explained: “We have had a fantastic response to our afternoon tea and raffle event. We were keen to hold an event around mental health as we have around 100 carers and 30 office staff and whilst we wanted to raise money for CPSL Mind, we also wanted to promote wellbeing and how to manage mental health in the workplace. We all had a great time at the afternoon tea, we were honoured to have the local mayor in attendance and it definitely put a smile on the faces of everyone who took part.”

Catherine Keating, our Community Fundraiser said, “We are so thankful to Roisin and the team at Beaumont Healthcare, the afternoon tea clearly lifted everyone’s spirits. As we recover from several lockdowns and the Covid-19 pandemic, people are still struggling with their mental wellbeing in many different ways. In response to increased levels of anxiety, isolation and loneliness, we have adapted our existing services – and are now able to spend more time out in the community with those that need it. It was an honour to have our local mayor Steven Ferguson involved in Roisin’s event and we are thankful for Stephen’s continued support.
