 Trainer: Specific duties and responsibilities               VARIABLE HOURS - NEGOTIABLE

  • Deliver training courses for CPSL Mind Training Services as required, including: STOP Suicide, Mental Health Awareness, Managing Mental Health in the Workplace, Trauma Informed Communications
  • Deliver talks to external organisations and represent CPSL Mind at external events
  • Deliver training using Teams, Zoom and in person, this will require travel across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire.
  • Contribute to the review, updating and development of existing training materials.
  • Contribute to the design and development of new courses as required
  • Support evaluation mechanisms to demonstrate impact
  • Deliver excellent customer service to clients through tailoring delivery style and responding to customer needs
  • Support the Training Manager and the Communications team to promote the training service to businesses
  • Liaise with the Training Manager to arrange course delivery
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date records electronically
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings and planning days
  • Pro-actively seek training opportunities with existing and new clients. This may include cold calling, attending networking events and organising mail shots.
  • Adhere to all policies approved by the CPSL Mind’s Board of Trustees
  • Maintain standards of care with regard to health & safety, equal opportunities, confidentiality, and individual and personal choice
  • To perform any other duties that are commensurate with the role as and when required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

  • Compatibility with the aims, objectives and values of CPSL Mind
  • Excellent group facilitation skills and manage risk in relation to course content
  • Good communication skills and level of literacy across a range of media, i.e. face-to-face, telephone, writing reports, emails, presentations and data collection
  • Confident in using digital platforms to deliver online training, including Zoom and Teams
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
  • Car driver with regular access to a car and full driving licence held
  • Self-aware with an ability to manage own wellbeing
  • Experience of delivering similar training to varied client groups, and tailoring style according to the audience
  • Experience of using a computer in everyday work, including writing documents, emails and presentations
  • Knowledge of mental health problems and how they affect individuals and those around them, at home and in different workplaces

Desirable:

  • Licensed to deliver Mental Health First Aid England’s MHFA courses
  • Ability to think creatively and contribute to the development of new training material
  • Experience of collaborative working
  • Experience of working under own initiative and problem-solving when needed
  • Knowledge of mental health problems and how they affect individuals and those around them, at home and in different workplaces
