Connecting Mums and Mums Matter

Becoming pregnant or being a new mum is a life changing experience for all women. Pregnancy and new motherhood is often imagined to be a time of great joy, happiness and excitement. However, the reality for many mums can be far from this with women coping not only with the huge physical changes but also changes in their emotions, relationships, sleep, routine and other areas of life.

For many women being pregnant or a new mum can be a difficult, exhausting, frightening and stressful experience. Many also find it to be a lonely experience, especially those without the support of friends and family.

Connecting Mums in the Peterborough area is funded by Peterborough City Council and helps pregnant women and new mums increase their social support, improve confidence and self-esteem, develop a range of coping skills, access local services and help nurture the bond between mum and baby. The course enables women to build resilience and prevent the risk of developing Postnatal Depression by providing you with one to one support and group sessions.

CPSL Mind are proud to be offering Mums Matter in Peterborough, a service developed in partnership with Mind nationally and mums with lived experience. We will be able to chat to you and advise which service might be most beneficial to you.

If you are pregnant or a new mum, live in Peterborough and wish to access the service or find out more information, please contact Corrina Turner on or call us at 01733 362990.
