Mary Doherty raises money for CPSL Mind through the joy of song

Mary DohertyCPSL Mind was delighted when local lady Mary Doherty raised £500 for the mental health charity through the sales of her recording ‘Mercy Saw Me.’

Mary said, “I have struggled with my mental health my whole life. For me, my life began at 50. Singing has brought me so much joy and it has been helped me so much in my recovery. I chose the song ‘Mercy Saw Me’ as I felt the lyrics truly reflected many of the struggles I have faced and how, with the support of my faith and my church I have been able to overcome them.

I am delighted that so many of my friends and members of my church supported me and bought copies. I am thrilled to be making this donation to CPSL Mind and I hope the money will help others in their recovery from depression.”

Zoe Doherty, fundraiser for CPSL Mind said, “We are delighted to receive this donation from Mary. It is well known that singing can have very positive effects on wellbeing and we are so glad to hear that it has supported Mary in her recovery. Thank you so much for choosing us to support”.
