On the 15th of September Martin Mace took part in the Kew Gardens Run Fest 10k and raised £605 for the local mental health charity Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL Mind).
This was his first 10k run and over the past few months he had been training hard to complete the distance. Martin was inspired to fundraise for CPSL Mind after he received support from their Sanctuary in Cambridge last year.
Martin commented, “I have used the services of CPSL Mind in the past. They were incredibly supportive and played a vital part in my recovery. I especially want to thank my counsellor Helen, the help she gave me was fundamental and I owe her a huge debt of gratitude. I have found running to be a great way to boost my mental health and I wanted to do something to show my support for such a great local charity.”
Zoe Doherty, fundraiser for CPSL Mind said, “Martin has showed huge determination to complete this run and this fantastic amount will go towards vital services to support local people in their recovery from mental health challenges. Thank you so much Martin – your support is greatly appreciated.”
