Mind in Cambridgeshire was delighted to receive a donation of £256 from Kavanagh Hayes this week. The independent estate agent based in Chatteris, raised the money through holding a Christmas cake sale and raffle.
Holly Jones, Senior Property Manager said, “We wanted to raise some money for charity this Christmas and Mind in Cambridgeshire was the obvious choice. Sadly someone we know recently took their own life and we therefore wanted to raise awareness of mental health and of the importance of seeking help from organisations such as Mind in Cambridgeshire.”
The cake sale and raffle was a great success and I would like to thank everyone who donated. I would especially like to thank all the local companies who donated to our raffle – The George Hotel Chatteris, JSL Electrical, PCOK, Mortgage Force, Heritage 4×4, Cupboard Under the Stairs Jewellery, Tom Cave Photography, Marmont Canoe Trails, Willows Day Nursery, Thai Touch, Ramsay Golf Course, Wedding Hire Beauties and Doddington Fish Bar.”
Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser for Mind in Cambridgeshire said, “We are extremely grateful to Holly and everyone at Kavanagh Hayes for their generous support. Sadly over 6,000 people in the UK complete suicide every year. Therefore it is extremely important that we continue to raise awareness of mental health and encourage those who are feeling depressed to seek the help and support they need. This year Mind in Cambridgeshire has directly helped over 1,300 local people and next year we expect to help even more. A huge thank you to everyone at Kavanagh Hayes who organised such a successful event.”
