Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL Mind) was delighted when Jon Sheppard from Peterborough offered to run the Perkins Great Eastern half marathon for the local mental health charity.
Jon completed the run in 2 hours, 2 minutes and 5 seconds and managed to raise an impressive £226.
Jon said, “I wanted to fundraise for CPSL Mind as mental health is a big problem in this country and I wanted to help local people get the support they need.”
Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser for CPSL Mind said, “We are truly grateful for Jon’s support. It takes considerable training and dedication to complete a half marathon and we are so impressed with what Jon has achieved. Today one in four of us at any one time during the year will have a diagnosable mental health condition and Jon’s donation will help us to continue to support local people in their recovery.”
