Serious about mental health? ASIST stands for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training – it is an interactive and practical programme, delivered world-wide and approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Learn ASIST’s robust six step model of suicide intervention, proven to help participants identify immediate risk of suicide and intervene. You’ll learn how to spot the early signs of a mental health issue, feel confident helping someone experiencing a mental health issue, provide help to someone in distress on a first aid basis and guide them towards appropriate longer-term support.
This is a 2 day course, taking place on:
23rd & 24th October 2019
Places on this course are fully funded by Cambridgeshire County Council as part of the STOP Suicide Campaign, but you must attend both days of the course in full to qualify for the free place. If you do not attend or do not complete both days, we will charge you £230 (market rate) in all but exceptional circumstances. If you wish to nominate another colleague to take your place, please contact us before the course.
NB: Please be aware that this course involves talking about suicide for a full two days. If you or family members/close friends have had any lived experience in this area, it may raise issues for you. However, this course is not about resolving personal issues – so it is important to consider this carefully before committing yourself.
