Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL Mind), was thrilled when they were presented with an enormous cheque for £7,208 from Anglia Ruskin University.
The impressive donation was possible thanks to thousands of Anglia Ruskin students completing the National Student Survey (NSS) and the UK Engagement Survey (UKES). The NSS allows students to rate the quality of their course and university, while UKES asks students how they’re engaging with their course, their views on the services on offer, and what more could be done to help them reach their full potential.
Anglia Ruskin donated £2 for every survey completed and Anglia Ruskin’s Students’ Union selected charities that are local to each of Anglia Ruskin’s main campuses. The Peterborough and Cambridge campus both chose CPSL Mind and the Chelmsford campus chose Dementia Adventure who also received a donation of £3,604.
Julie Walkling, Director of Student Services at Anglia Ruskin, said, “We are delighted that so many of our undergraduate students have once again engaged with these surveys, which help to improve the university experience for future students. And we are particularly pleased that our Students’ Union has selected two incredibly worthwhile mental health charities to support. We hope these donations help CPSL Mind and Dementia Adventure continue with their great work.”
Aly Anderson, CEO of CPSL Mind said, “Everyone at CPSL Mind was delighted to be chosen by both campuses and this is one of our biggest corporate donations this year. One in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any one year and this donation will help us continue to provide direct services to local people who are recovering from mental health conditions. A huge thank you to all the students and staff who were involved.”
