Independent Living Services raised £330 for local mental health charity, CPSL Mind

Tenants at Ditton Court present the cheque on behalf of all sheltered housing tenants who fund raised this year for CPSL Mind

Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL Mind) was delighted when the Cambridge City Councils Independent Living Services chose the local mental health charity as its charity of the year and raised £330.

The tenants of each sheltered housing scheme have held fundraising events throughout the year to raise money for the charity including coffee mornings, cake sales and raffles.

Carol Skinner, of the Independent Living Services said, “We were delighted to support CPSL Mind this year.  We are very grateful for the support given by the tenants in fundraising for this charity.”

Did you know?

Depression affects around 22% of men and 28% of women aged 65 years and over in the UK, so supporting a local mental health charity was very important to us. The work they do is vital and they help a lot of local people in need.

Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser for CPSL Mind said, “It was great to meet all the residence of Ditton Court and we are truly grateful for all of their fundraising efforts. This year one in four of us will have a diagnosable mental health condition. At CPSL Mind we provide direct services to local people who are recovering from mental health problems and the money raised will help ensure we are able to provide even more support.”
